Condition of your photographic chemistry does an important role on quality control. Quality of chemistry is very dependent on volume of business. In a high volume lab, because of turn over of chemistry is within days, there is a risk over developing. On contrary, a low volume lab could have chemistry turning bad more often. Hi-Tech has developed series of quality control chemistry. Working solution-conditioning chemistry is applied directly into working tank. The outcome is amazingly quick. The quality can be recovered within seconds. Following our instruction can reduce down time, labour, and increase quality, productivity, and profit. Hi-Tech is using the approach of PH control, anti-oxidation, reversing of oxidation, contrast control, developing strength recovery, and fog prevention. Air is the biggest enemy to photographic chemistry. Carbon dioxide absorbed by developer has acidic property. It can reduce PH resulting green colour cast. Oxidized developing agent will lower the developing strength, contrast, and accuracy of colours. The processing tank with a built in heater behaves like a slow cooker. Vaporization will increase concentration. Through months of operation, your working solution can drift away from design. The resulting formula is usually has high concentration with low developing power. Developer does a major role on quality. It must be regularly monitored and adjusted. Powdery deposit on film fixer affixed to negative can produce visible white sports all over on prints. This symptom can suddenly appear and will take long time to disappear even after replacement with new chemistry. It is because those fine powder can spread and confined in the gap of the racks. They are not easily washed away. After replacement of new chemistry, the confined power can dissolve out and show up again. Early oxidation prevention can assure your consistence quality. Careless attitude will eventually brought you ambiguous encounter with your customer. It hasn't count your down time and recovery time yet. Muddy deposit on paper bleach fix can leave processing marks on prints. Early prevention can reduce paper waste. Un-awareness can over burden your self one busy day while keep on doing redo while customer pushing you on speed and quality. No matter how you
take good care of your chemistry. There is still the end of them in one of the
day. We recommend you to replace them periodically every half year. It could be
extendable to once a year. Periodic washing of developing racks, with Hi-Tech
stain remover, and frequent replacement of chemical filter can reduce stain on
prints. Replacement of paper bleach / fix frequently is the only way to prevent
black tar deposit in the working tank and racks. Tar is not removable by any
means. Only new chemistry can dissolve and loosen them out. You may have
experienced that your prints have intermittently silver stain on prints after
replacement with new chemistry. This trouble will take long time to disappear
after new chemistry replacement. Prevention is better than cure. Saving a few
dollars can loose thousands of dollars. |
